The New Jersey Press Association's Editorial Committee is proud to announce the winners of the 2003 Better College Newspaper Contest.
Nineteen colleges submitted 284 entries in January 2004. The contest was judged in February by 16 editors, writers and photographers of newspapers that are members of the New Jersey Press Association.
The winners were honored at the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association's Spring conference on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at the Trenton Marriott Hotel, Lafayette Street, Trenton, N.J. The judges' comments on the entries were distributed to the colleges at the NJCPA conference.
The luncheon speaker was Dan Day, Trenton bureau chief for The Associated Press. He described how the nation's premier news service operates and outlined how college students may apply for internships and full-time jobs at the AP.
Our warmest congratulations to all of the winners! We thank all of those who entered the competition.
