New Jersey College Newspaper Contest 2008-2009

Results of the 2008-2009 New Jersey College Newspaper Contest are posted below.

Award recipients will be honored at the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association's Spring Conference,  scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Trenton Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Students and faculty members must register for the luncheon before April 10. The cost is $15 per person.

The keynote speaker for the luncheon is Frank LoMonte, executive director of the Student Press Law Center.

Nineteen college newspapers submitted 389 entries in March 2009. The contest was judged in March by active or former editors, writers and photographers from newspapers that are members of the New Jersey Press Association and by other media professionals, most of them college instructors who work full time for newspapers.

Our warmest congratulations to all of the winners! We thank all of those who entered the competition.

Students and faculty advisers are urged to notify NJPF of any misspellings of names. E-mail us at programs@njpressfoundation.org.

SPECIAL NOTES: If more than one editor is listed for a category, the first person judged four-year college entries. The contest judges were given the option of awarding ties and one or more honorable mentions, as well as withholding awarding prizes. All decisions are based on their judgment of the quality of the entries. All contest judges evaluated entries without conferring with the judges of other categories.
