Annual New Jersey College Newspaper Conference and
Awards Luncheon Scheduled for April 18 in Trenton
New Jersey
college newspaper advisers and editors will meet on
Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Trenton for the annual conference and
awards luncheon sponsored by the New Jersey Press
Foundation.

advisers is $15 per person.
The
conference, which has the theme "College Newspaper
Websites as a Destination for Students and the Campus
Community," will begin at 10:00 a.m.. The opening session
at 10:30 a.m. will be a
panel discussion moderated by Loren Fisher (photo at
left), online
editor of the Home News Tribune, East Brunswick.
The
opening session will be followed by "roundtable"
discussions on various topics related to the conference
theme. Discussion leaders will be editors and
professors.
The
awards luncheon will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.
The
keynote speaker at the luncheon is Frank LoMonte (photo
at right),
executive director of the Student Press Law Center,
Arlington, Va.
Following his talk and a question-and-answer period, the
2008-2009 New Jersey College Newspaper Contest awards
will be presented.

awards program is expected to end at approximately 2:15 p.m.
The
conference is at the Trenton Marriott Hotel and
Conference Center.
